Public bug reported: I recently upgraded some ubuntu-server systems from lucid to maverick and whenever I login the motd still shows "Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS".
It shows "Ubuntu 10.10" directly underneath the output line of "uname -a" information, but shows "Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS" below the system info provided by landscape. Also noticed that some messages (welcome message, landscape information) are being output twice: $ ssh my-server Linux my-server 2.6.35-22-server #35-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 22:02:33 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux Ubuntu 10.10 Welcome to the Ubuntu Server! * Documentation: http://www.ubuntu.com/server/doc System information as of Mon Nov 1 17:25:19 EST 2010 System load: 0.37 Processes: 120 Usage of /: 2.3% of 439.85GB Users logged in: 0 Memory usage: 61% IP address for br0: 192.168.0.2 Swap usage: 0% IP address for virbr0: 192.168.122.1 Graph this data and manage this system at https://landscape.canonical.com/ Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS Welcome to the Ubuntu Server! * Documentation: http://www.ubuntu.com/server/doc System information disabled due to load higher than 1 Last login: Mon Nov 1 17:22:53 2010 from my-desktop ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: libpam-modules 1.1.1-4ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.35-generic-pae 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic-pae i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Nov 1 17:20:08 2010 ProcEnviron: PATH=(cususername, user) LANG=en_AU.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: pam ** Affects: pam (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 lucid2maverick maverick -- motd still shows "Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS" after upgrade to maverick https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/669334 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
