Hi Daniel, thanks for your quick investigation and reply. I have removed the "options snd-hda-intel model=basic" entry from /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf again and rebooted the machine. Unfortunately this didn't do the job: gnome-sound-recorder still doesn't take anything from the internal mic and now it neither takes anything from an external mic (which worked before using the snd-hda-intel option). Any help is much appreciated, the microphone is critical for me... Please let me know if you need any further details.
