Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gqview

Instead of showing a zoomed image, GQview shows a black area.

This is very consistent, but happens only with certain settings and
certain files.

It happens only with these conditions:
- with zoomed (zoomed to fit) images (not 1:1).
- with a better zooming rendering (not the fastest one).
- with group 4 FAX encoded TIF-files.
- only when showing the second and more TIF-files.

For example, If I view a PNG-file, followed by a TIF-file, that TIF-file
is rendered ok. Viewing again the PNG-file, followed again by a TIF-
file, is still ok. But viewing aTFF-file after viewing a previous TIF-
file, causes a black image. The image is not completely black, a few
lines on the bottom might be displayed, and those few lines show the
correct part of the zoomed image.

The option "gqview --debug" does not show any errors.

This problem did not exist in "Breezy". Also the newest version 2.1.1
which is not yet included in 'Dapper' does not have this problem.

Workaround: I replaced the binary /usr/bin/gqview with the binary from
the newest rpm package, which I extracted with 7z.

GQview: 2.0.1
Ubuntu: Dapper (with all updates)
Kernel: K7
CPU: AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1400
Memory: 512MB

jdo.
