Public bug reported: Ubuntu freezes several times daily. It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing, or even not doing (the screen saver can be on), it randomly freezes. When it freezes, the video stops, I get lines across the screen, it then gets worse and worse until the screen is just dots. Sometimes when it freezes the audio will start making horrible static sounds. After it freezes I have to do a hard reboot using the power button.
Here are some pics on Photobucket of what the video does: http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee418/sonictree2002/Ubuntu/1.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee418/sonictree2002/Ubuntu/2.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee418/sonictree2002/Ubuntu/3.jpg My system: Dell Dimension E521 AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ 2GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE (I'm running the NVidia driver) Ubuntu Desktop 10.04.1 32-bit (with all updates) I've read through the forums and tried some of the fixes, but nothing has worked. I'm not too familiar with Ubuntu/Linux, so if you need info/logs, please let me know how to get it.
