I did the following:
"Edit /etc/cups/cupsd.conf adding a line "FileDevice
Yes". Then restart CUPS with "sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys restart".
simply adding "FileDevice Yes" as a line without quotes, of course. and
restarted
Then I entered
sudo usb_printerid /dev/usblp0
sudo usb_printerid /dev/usblp1
...
and tried this up to usblo10, but got these returns:
No such file or directory: can't open '/dev/usblp0'
I also tried:
sudo usb_printerid /dev/lp0
and the return was:
Invalid argument: GET_DEVICE_ID on '/dev/lp0'
If I tried
sudo usb_printerid /dev/lp1
the return was
No such file or directory: can't open '/dev/lp1'
Maybe GET_DEVICE_ID on '/dev/lp0' is significant? lp0 is LPT1, or?
