I have a very similar problem. My external HD (LUKS encrypted) doesn't get mounted since yesterday's software update. Everything worked well for me up to that update. Now I don't even get asked for a password, when I plug in the HD. I also don't get any error message. When I use cryptsetup LuksOpen and mount to access it manually, I can mount it without any problems. If you need any logs, just name them.
