** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

  After changing the keyboard layout from the default one (I selected a
  wrong while installing), the new when cannot be saved across a reboot.

  I selected "us intl" in the installation, but changed it to "us altgr-
  intl" afterwards using dpkg-reconfigure -plow console-setup. Then, I
  changed it in GNOME and was able to use the new layout in this session.
  After a reboot, GNOME uses both layouts (the old one as default, the new
  one as fallback), while xorg uses only the new one.

  I also discovered that the gconf key
- /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd is beeing reseted, even after
+ /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd is beeing reset, even after
  removing the write access to the %gconf.xml file.

  $ cat /etc/default/console-setup
