I have just installed Ubuntu Linux on an IBM Thinkpad T43. The USB corded optical mouse stops working after a few seconds to a few minutes every time. It has been suggested I get a new mouse, but this mouse works fine if I reboot into Windows. I was going to get a Logitech mouse advertised on their website as Linux compatible, but I am yet to be convinced it is not the software that is causing the problem.
