I have the same problem with Acer 5670. Fan never runs fast enough. XP does not have this problem. "acpi.power_nocheck=1" AND "acpi_osi=linux" has no effect. Running 10.10, 2.6.35-22-generic #35-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 20:36:48 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
