Public bug reported:

I instaled ubuntu maverick 10.10 yesterday, after the installation I ran
an update, I installed the nvidia recomended driver, and I realized I
had no audio and the sound indicator looked like if it was in mute, I
thought that after a reboot it would be Ok, but I was wrong, I checked
the sound applet and it doesn't show any hardware in that section. I
have an k9vgm MSI motherboard I dont have an external audio card, I
think the integrated sound card is realtek, I have 2 gibs RAM and an
ATHLON X2 64 4200 processor.
