What you want know about software? I don't ubderstand, sorry I'm using Ubuntu 10.10. Without this patch only digital in/outs are avaible, but no analog ones. After applying this patch and rebooting system additional analog in/out configurations appears in sound card properties menu in 'gnome-volume-control' and it possible to use this analog in/outs.
