I'm currently not using any external disks.

I've installed from Usb.

Yes i have dual boot with damn xp for playing games (it is on a
different hdd). But i was having same problem before using dual boot. (I
ve installed new hdd with xp then updated grub for adding other os to
boot menu.)

in grub cfg there is "insmod ext2" entries visible, but i'm using ex4
filesystem. This is not relevant with my problem i guess, but i'm not
sure if it is right either.
