Hello, currently I have Kubuntu 10.04 and I have all my partitions with ext3. Because I have not tried again, I cannot say if the problem is solved.

Thanks in advance Fabi ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- lost data on ext3 partition; fsck will not run automatically after x mounts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517836 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have 8.04 LTS using ext3. My home directory is on the same disk/different partition (/home320). On my other disk I use 9.10 AMD64 with ext4. On 9.10 I have symlinked some folders from my 8.04 home into 9.10 home e.g.(bilder -> /home320/public/bilder) I have monitored for a while if the maximum mounts of home320 is reached fsck is not called (9.10 AMD64). The result is that /home320 is not mounted. In this case i start 8.04. fsck will executed end everything is fine. So i continue on 9.10. The problem is the today I lost some data. e.g. 20 Files , 100 MB. I assume that the ext3 partition will be handled wrongly. Here is a fstab snippet. <fstab> # /home was on /dev/sdb5 during installation UUID=64c58c52-edb1-4544-8fe1-ce1b8eb1f7ab /home ext4 defaults 0 2 # take home from /dev/sda3 UUID=8bff1470-58a7-4915-a556-1eafb892fca9 /home320 ext3 defaults 0 2 </fstab> What should I do?
