Thank You for your response. Answers to your questions point by point - 1. Yes it happens quite too often. (Say once every 5 times I start Evolution) 2. I am using POP Access to Google Servers to retrieve my mail. Here, once evolution recognizes some new mail on the server it starts downloading and gets stuck somewhere in between or even at the start and refuses to download further. Most of the times this issue is resolved only when Evolution is forcefully shut down and restarted.
I faced this issue even in the earlier versions of Ubuntu. But the problem occurs quite too frequently in this version of Ubuntu (Ubuntu 10.10) to ignore!
