Binary package hint: gedit
I cannot open text files in gedit. It keeps saying that the character encoding
is wrong. The text files were created in DOS or OS/2. I have tried adding
different encodings to the menu with no effect. Is there any way that I can
turn off automatic detection of character encoding and force gedit to open the
files. This is a totally broken piece of software, why is it included in
Ubuntu?
