As of November 6, the fix for this is to use the PPA "ricotz" version of gnome-shell and all of its dependencies in Ubuntu Natty.
On Oct 27, I was able to install gnome-shell 2.91.0+git20101022 .6b47b78d-0ubuntu1~11.04~ricotz0.3_i386.deb . This version and every version since have worked fine, though they sometimes are replaced more than once a day as other packages change. Been very happy with gnome- shell since, find it gorgeous though a mouthful for the netbook, no problem on the AMD 4 core at all. I suspect this bug was some error in libglib reading the schemas, since the version of gnome-shell that is broken in Ubuntu's official natty repos works fin in Maverick, just not in Natty after that package changed. -- Gnome-shell aborts, can't find schema 'org.gnome.shell" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662387 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
