Please remove model=generic, the latest alsa driver modules (if
installed), then install http://people.canonical.com/~diwic/temp/alsa-
hda-diwic-alc887-mixer-dkms_1.0.23.diwic_all.deb - reboot and report
back if it works for you or not. Thanks!
