I can confirm this. At the first you could change the theme, but then I've got the same crashes. The theme manager crashed, and loads of other applets. The theme looked very weird. After I deleted the old ~/.gconf the theme manager didn't load the thumbnails of the themes and when you scrolled the same thing happened when you scroll on an old computer in /usr/bin when it's loading. I can change my wallpaper. I don't get any error messages when I'm 'using' the theme manager and the close buttons are working properly.
