Sorry, this was during an installation. I've no way to go back in past and grap this log. But the message said:
"To help the developers understand what went wrong, include the following detail in your bug report, and attach the files /var/log/installer/syslog and /var/log/partman:" So if you are sure that you need /var/log/syslog (beside /var/log/installer/syslog) then the message should be modified to say so.
