Binary package hint: simple-scan
Images from scanning Legal-size pages are 8.4 x 15 inches (should be 8.5x14").
An extra inch of white space is appended to the bottom of each page.
I'm scanning from an HP3030 multifunction
(hpaio:/usb/hp_LaserJet_3030?serial=00CNBM066305).
Steps to reproduce:
1. Put a legal-size page, with edges marked to be visible, in the ADF
2. Start simple-scan
3. Document->Preferences->PageSize set to Legal
4. Click the Scan button
5. Save as PDF
Open the resulting PDF with acroread. It will show the page size as 8.4x15"
(should be 8.5x14").
Also the extra inch of empty space is visible on the bottom of each page (also
visible viewing with gv).
I'll attach the saved PDF file.
