Your bug report shows that you have installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, which
includes grub2 by default, but that you have overridden this to install
grub1 instead, without configuring it.  You must either configure grub1,
or reinstall grub2 by running this command from a terminal:

  sudo apt-get install grub-pc
