This bug report shows that you installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, which uses
grub2 by default, but that you have removed it in favor of grub1 without
configuring it. You either need to configure grub1, or reinstall grub2
by running the following command in a terminal: sudo apt-get install
grub-pc
