- Archive Manager can't continue the decompression because it can't figure out the hebrew filenames. - error recevied is for example: Cannot create /home/dan/Dropbox/work/ NQC.doc Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character - Hebrew file names are shown instead at squares with hexadecimal. - installed : sudo apt-get install culmus xfonts-efont-unicode xfonts- efont-unicode-ib xfonts-intl-european msttcorefonts - Hebrew file names in nautilus - no problem at all. - if I compress / decompress Hebrew in ubuntu , no problem. - issue only when archive files comes from windows, - I have ubuntu 10.10. this problem have been around for a long time at least since I know (ubuntu 8. somthing). - maybe this has to do with it too... : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unzip/+bug/10979 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: nautilus 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.35-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Nov 13 20:19:28 2010 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/nautilus InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release i386 (20101007) ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: nautilus ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 maverick -- Compress utility in ubuntu can't handel hebrew filenames compressed under windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/674956 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
