Note that I am currently running with gnome (becuase kde won't run).
I tried the above... and got a popup indicating no additional information
stored (or something like that) and the message...
Package kubuntu-kde4-meta not installed and no hook available, ignoring
in the terminal window. the following files are in the directory mentioned...
