Ok, I have two ideas:

1) Keep alsa-driver-modules installed, then try model=auto by inserting the 
line 
options snd-hda-intel model=auto
...into /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
Reboot and try.

2) An invalid SKU, try by uninstalling alsa-driver-modules, then install
http://people.canonical.com/~diwic/temp/alsa-hda-realtek-ignore-sku-
dkms_1.0.23.diwic_all.deb and reboot.
