Looking through the berlios topic and my logs, it is indeed the same problem (not sure why mplayer always launches mplayer with -vid 0 on first play). I was using medibuntu's mplayer (version 1.0~rc4~try1.dsfg1-1ubuntu1+medibuntu1) but I believe it's also in the stock ubuntu version (haven't tried - whoever's interested, get a random mkv file and re-mux it so that video isn't the first stream, then play it by running mplayer -vid 0 file.mkv ).
I've since moved to Ripp's mplayer-coreavc> https://launchpad.net/~ripps818/+archive/coreavc which is a fresh build which incorporates an upstream fix - see this bug-report> http://bugzilla.mplayerhq.hu/show_bug.cgi?id=1814 ** Bug watch added: Mplayer Bugzilla #1814 http://bugzilla.mplayerhq.hu/show_bug.cgi?id=1814 ** Summary changed: - SMplayer doesn't display video in MKV files where video isn't the first stream (mplayer works) + Mplayer's -vid option broken for some demuxers -- Mplayer's -vid option broken for some demuxers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/675179 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
