Public bug reported:
I installed Ubuntu 10.10 on a friend's computer and after a lot of work
trying to make his monitor work (resolution problems) I found out that
ubuntu fails to suspend,shutdown/restart etc.
If I restart x it goes to the login screen as usual but choosing to
logout/switch user etc the screen goes blank displaying "out of range".
The monitor is a Compaq 5017 and the machine is a Compaq Presario
6401RSH.
I'm sure it's a linux problem, but if it's x's problem let me know and
I'll give the needed info.
