All the work arounds are great, glad we figured them out. However this is a bug, not a bug to work around but a bug to be fixed. Its been many months since this issue has existed. Quite frankly I think it might be best to start looking into alternate means of splash screens besides plymouth since it is unfriendly with so many video card drivers, (or rather a few drivers that so many people seem to use).
