This bug report shows that you installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, which uses
grub2 by default, but that you have removed grub2 in favor of grub1
without configuring it. You either need to configure grub1 for use, or
reinstall grub2 by running the following command from a terminal:
sudo apt-get install grub-pc
