Im running on the 2.6.35-999 kernel now using the to get the wireless working 
you need to get and compile the driver, 
rtl8192se_linux_2.6.0017.0705.2010.tar.gz
The freeze problem seems to be related to a bug in the ACPI Thinkpad driver and 
an incomplete DSTS table, and ubuntu attempting to put the Edge in or out of a 
powersaving/cpufreq mode, more information describing the various issues:
