In 9.10 this was never an issue
In 10.04 it might have happened, but I did not recognize this as an issue.
In 10.10 its a regular issue:
Power Manager set to suspend to RAM when lid is closed.
After reboot, this setting is neglected
After once suspending via menu (Suspend) and waking up, closing the lid brings
the machine into sleep mode.
This happens only on my HP 8510w. On the HP nx8220 and HP510 sleep works
any time.
