Problem solved. The fix is somewhere in the changes between the versions in dapper and edgy.
I got to and set up pbuilder. I pulled the edgy source, ran pbuilder with a problem, installed the created deb keeping my old config. Reboot, I can log in! I now get this in /var/log/auth.log Aug 10 13:57:35 localhost gdm[4552]: pam_mount: waiting for mount Aug 10 13:57:35 localhost gdm[4552]: pam_mount: clean system authtok (0) How do I tell pbuilder to use a different version on the created deb? So that if there is an update for dapper, it will install over my own version(which will probably have a higher version number?). ** Summary changed: - failed login with encrypted home partition + failed login with encrypted home partition(solved) -- failed login with encrypted home partition(solved) https://launchpad.net/bugs/55812 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
