Do you currently have a third party repository enabled at all? Are you
missing universe or multiverse? Can you please provide the output of
these:
apt-cache policy mythtv-frontend
apt-cache policy mythtv-backend
apt-get install mythtv-frontend
cat /etc/apt/sources.list
ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d
