I'm having this same issue, however, I believe the issue is at a higher level than this. It seems like a different user (or different X/Gnome permissions) are being applied after resume. This is apparent in the sound devices not being available, as well as other behavior, such as the proxy settings usually available under my username not being available.
The strange thing is that when this happens the password box that appears on resume is smaller than the regular one (when things do work on resume).
