Ok, this just happened again immediately after login from a cold boot. Despite the autorestart tweak above, the loop happened until X reached its client limit again.
I did capture a lot of core files this time. I've generated backtraces from them all and I will attach them all to this bug. They all follow a pattern, though, different to that given in the earlier backtrace: #0 0xb76a723a in ?? () from /usr/lib/libgnome-desktop-2.so.17 #0 0xb76a723a in ?? () from /usr/lib/libgnome-desktop-2.so.17 #1 0xb76a795f in gnome_bg_draw () from /usr/lib/libgnome-desktop-2.so.17 #2 0xb76a7b49 in gnome_bg_create_pixmap () from /usr/lib/libgnome-desktop-2.so.17 ... guess symbols are not available for libgnome-desktop. ** Attachment added: "bt.6394" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/620323/+attachment/1742395/+files/bt.6394 -- attempts to spawn infinite number of file manager windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/620323 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
