** Description changed: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20 I'm not sure whether I can duplicate these issues or not and they might be related to one another: 1) When I booted up into Ubuntu for the first time, there was some system error: "directory not found in root directory" or something like that. The text displayed might've also shown the message about a missing "var/run/cups/certs" directory. And Ubuntu might also have tried to recreate the missing directory as shown in the information below. Furthermore, there were also some lines about HP Printing and Cupsd. E [05/Apr/2007:00:03:30 +0800] Creating missing directory "/var/run/cups/certs" E [05/Apr/2007:00:24:45 +0800] Creating missing directory "/var/run/cups/certs" E [05/Apr/2007:01:19:16 +0800] Creating missing directory "/var/run/cups/certs" E [05/Apr/2007:15:23:27 +0800] Creating missing directory "/var/run/cups/certs" E [05/Apr/2007:16:04:14 +0800] Creating missing directory "/var/run/cups/certs" E [05/Apr/2007:16:14:01 +0800] Creating missing directory "/var/run/cups/certs" The error never occurred again, however, I would find certain references within System log. 2) The following error has occurred at least twice. This ALWAYS happens when I'm carrying out a task on the computer and it definitely does not occur by itself as I left the pc on for about 8 hours when I went to sleep and to do other tasks. When I came back to the pc, Ubuntu was in working condition(no crashes, freezes, etc., etc.) I can't say for sure I remember what applications I was running and what tasks I was performing during all those times when this error occurred. However, on one particular occasion, I was downloading Koffice. Before the download could finish, Ubuntu crashed and I got the following error. This time, I'd a digicam ready and I was able to snap an image. This is the clearest shot I could take(the others were eh, too blurry): http://img507.imageshack.us/my.php?image=errors1qh5.jpg I don't think I've any other logs to provide as the error last occurred more than 12 hours ago. However, what I did was to disable Printer service(cupsys) and Printer service(hplip) from System---> Administration----> Services. Since then, the errors have not occurred. The applications which I were running while this crash occurred while downloading Koffice were: a) Thunderbird b) Firefox c) Terminal d) Synaptic manager e) Text editor f) Konqueror g) Skype - - That's all the information I know. Is that enough? + More information posted below: Please read!!!!
