** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20

BIOS information: Motherboard is Abit av8. Not the latest Bios because
- of certain conflicts with onboard lan. Onboard lan has certain issues
- which the latest Bios doesn't rectify but in fact worsen. As Abit av8
- has already been discontinued, there's no chance of applying a better
- version of Bios.
+ of certain conflicts with onboard lan. Onboard lan has certain known
+ issues reported by various users. Often, applying the latest Bios
+ doesn't rectify but in fact worsens these problems(also a known issue).
+ As Abit av8 has already been discontinued, there's no chance of applying
+ a better version of Bios.

Results from running various commands are separated by lines.

When I tried to hibernate the pc, it shut down instead. A pity my
digicam was out of battery or I'd have attempted to take a picture as
there might've been some useful error messages included.

Sorry for pasting it all here. This is my first time submitting a bug
report and I don't know how to attach any files.

Also, I'm not sure if this is related but around the time this error
occurred(at 12.30++ a.m.), there seemed to be a kernel system panic. The
mouse froze, the keyboard was non-responsive and the scroll lock and
caps lock keys were blinking. I'd to do a cold reboot.
