I'm also using the fglrx driver, though I'm using the xorg-driver-fglrx
package, currently at 7.1.0-8.34.8+20.4-14.15.

Using the last supplied libGL.so.1 file I had gotten googlearth to work
yesterday, but with a warning that I was running in Software GL mode,
even though it was hardware accelerated. After updating this morning to
the latest packages which included googleearth and the xorg-driver-fglrx
packages, I can no longer get googleearth to get past the splash screen,
with or without the libGL.so.1 file in /usr/lib/googleearth.

I've verified that I do have hardware acceleration via glxinfo and
glxgears, fgl_glxgears, etc.

Any suggestions?
