Fine. But without a mechanism to make sure partitions previously mounted
continue to be mounted, this would cause problems for ordinary users of
ubuntu. How is someone who has never heard of /etc/fstab to fix this
problem - they would simply get the message "/home/xxx not found" or
whatever when they try to log in and have no idea how to fix it. What
will happen to all the ordinary users who upgrade from edgy to feisty? I
do consider this potentially a serious problem from a usability
perspective.
