@itoas: Your summary solution did not help, unfortunately. Here's my scenario:
Running Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 as a VM on VMWare. Trying to install a Bitnami native installer for Alfresco. Tried what itoas described above, didn't work. Installed the ia32 (20090808ubuntu9), didn't work. Also tried an older version of ia32 (20090808ubuntu4), didn't work. Since this is a VM, I am using the generic VGA video drivers, if it matters.
