Binary package hint: software-center
If a large package (eg. Gnash) is currently in the process of being
removed (the progress bar is moving) and Software Centre is closed (with
the "(x)" button in the top-left); after which s-c is restarted
(Applications->Ubuntu Software Centre) then:
* the old state (Gnash still installed) is shown
* no indication is given of the operations underway
Ideally the state would be synchronised to activity on the ground.
