Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: update-manager
Update manager behaves really bad with netbook screens (mine is an Eee
PC 901) when the changelog is being shown. In the attached screenshot,
only 2 packages can be seen from the possible upgrades list and few
lines in the changelog. Meanwhile, most of the space to the right part
is underutilized.
My idea is to change the layout to a two-column one where the list of
packages is in the left part and the description/changes is opened from
the right (with adjustable horizontal size). That would also have the
side benefit of putting all the buttons close together ("check",
"install updates", "settings" and "close").
This solution would really improve the usability of the app. with small
screens and should be still nice in bigger ones.
