These demos appear to work (albeit slowly) for me in Natty on my GM45
machine.
I don't find it particularly surprising that it failed on 10.04; there
has been a lot of work in Mesa to make the 3D stack usable for WebGL
since then.
Marking as fix released, based on my Natty testing. If you can
reproduce this in Natty (possibly using a LiveCD), feel free to re-open.
