Juan,

No change, I'm afraid.
I installed cdrdao, as instructed.
- launched Brasero
- selected a Data Project, and added my 644 MB .dmg file to the file
selector window
- inserted blank CD-R, and clicked Burn...
- accepted all the defaults (burn speed, etc)
- clicked BURN
The Brasero window prompted vanished, leaving a blank desktop.

I tried a second time, this time selecting "Simulate before burning" just to
see if it made any difference when it's not actually getting the driver to
write to the burner. Same result.

Each time it crashed, the kernel wrote the following error to syslog:
Brasero[2154]: segfault at 14 ip 00cf8e29 sp bf948948 error 6 in
libglib-2.0.so.2600.0[b99000+cd000]

(the hex code following the 'ip' ad 'sp' fields are different in the two log
records)

This error log is gibberish to me. I don't know if this is relevant or not,
but I note that the seg fault seems to occur in a module named
libglib...2600. My CPU is a Sempron 2600+. Coincidence or not? Perhaps this
is an AMD-specific glitch.

I'm happy to try and reproduce this Brasero crash on a 10.04 installation
(same system), if you can tell me how to install Brasero. The Mythbuntu
LiveCD did not install Brasero, nor the Ubuntu Software Center (and I'm
brand new to this Linux world). Is it as simple as apt-get install brasero?
