Thunderbird 3.1.6/7 to Lucid, could you please test to see if this is
solved? The packages are currently staged in the Ubuntu Mozilla
Security PPA: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mozilla-
security/+archive/ppa
This works for me with Thunderbird 3.1.6 on Maverick.
