Binary package hint: xrdp

I have been having trouble getting XRDP to work with nearly every
application in Ubuntu. Some critical examples are a gnome terminal or
the gnome-system-monitor. Both of these crash immediately upon starting.
I've never been able to see what is actually happening since I can't
start a terminal to monitor stderr or stdout while running the program
under xrdp however I stumbled across the following post today:

This person apparently was able to get out of it the following error:
