This bug is reported for an old and now unsupported version of Ubuntu.
It seems that the problem is/was caused elsewhere and this is a request
to document the issue. Normally we do not post workarounds for existing
bugs unless they cause big problems for a large number of users (we
primarily document usage, not troubleshooting).
Is this bug report still applicable in the latest stable version of
Ubuntu?
