I can confirm this in a clean install of Ubuntu 10.10 on a Lenovo
Thinkpad T61.  I also tried the Sun JDK and still had the same issue.
Also, the workaround mentioned (using the space bar or "check all") only
works for the plugin list - other checkbox lists don't respond to either
method.

Has there been any progress toward diagnosing this problem or finding a
fix?  This makes it rather difficult to use many features of NetBeans, a
heavily-used development environment.
