thanks for taking time to report this bug. have you run update manager?
there are updates there that should fix this issue. please update your
system. (look for 'papyon' in updates) if that does not solve the
problem please attach you telepathy butterfly logs by clicking on
help>debug a window will popup there in the dropdown menu select
butterfly and click save. (these logs should be of the time when empathy
is trying to connect.
