I guess this is the bitter end, or? I just can;'t get it to work with Feisty
or Edgy? I thnk
it cannot be a kernel problem because I can print in Knoppix 5.1 on /dev/lp0.
I configured a generic PCL5e printer on LPT1 and printed the test page. One
page
printed right away with about a centimeter of the ubuntu test page and these
lines:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] SET PAGEPROTECT=AUTO
@PJL SET RESOLUTION=600
@PJL SET DENSITY=5
@PJL SET DUPLEX=OFF
@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE=PCL
These are settings of the printer.
But after that it was back to the normal situation of data transferring but not
printing.
I also tried a Raw pinter with a queue driver. It prints:
obe-3.0
%%Title: PPR Test Page
%%Pages: 1
%%DocumentNeededResources: font Helveti
and then it prints a page or so with a line of garbage and then 5 or so
empty pages.
